The Barbie Pink 3-Story Dream Townhouse Reveiw
Searching for the Barbie Pink 3-Story Dream Townhouse for your daughter?
Building a dollhouse is quite difficult but the Barbie Pink 3-Story Dream Townhouse is a dream to set up. When my daughter first asked for a dollhouse, I was stumped.
I mean who had the time and inclination to buy and set up a complete dollhouse. Then someone told me about the Barbie Pink 3-Story Dream Townhouse which is super-easy to set up.
Initially, I was skeptical, I mean I know that my daughter likes dollhouses but I didn’t want to spend a week slotting together pieces to make a huge wobbly dollhouse.
I decided to research the toy before actually buying it and getting stuck with it. Suffice to say, I was pleasantly surprised.
Barbie: several different types of dollhouses?
The Mattel dollhouse sets are made from high-grade virgin plastics and each set comes with detailed instructions on how to set up the dollhouse as quickly as possible.
Each piece is numbered and it slots quite easily to set up the dollhouse in about an hour. Initially, while doing research I got a little confused.
Barbie seemed to be quite the jetsetter as she had over ten different types of houses in different locations all over the world.
However, the townhouse seemed to be the biggest and best version with a range of features. The next best version was her Malibu Barbie Glam Vacation House which was equally good but a little on the smaller side. Since I wasn’t planning on buying another dollhouse, I decided to focus on the townhouse dollhouse set.
Models and features
The townhouse has been specially made for children in the 3-10 age group but I would suggest that you daughter be about 4-5 before you purchase this set to enjoy it. The dollhouse comes in a wonderful girly pink with walls in shades of pink and mauve.
Accents like doors and windows are a bright white which makes the dollhouse even more pretty. It has one floor and a terrace with a pool on the terrace which is quite cool, if you think about it. To make it easy for Barbie to move about, the house has been equipped with a fully moving elevator.
The house has been equipped with sound and lights on every level. This is much better than a traditional wooden dollhouse where the space is provided for lighting but you have to do much of the wiring yourself.
Each and every room has custom wall accents like artwork on the walls, the classic Barbie profile, windows and doors, wallpaper and inbuilt rugs, wallpaper, pop-up big screen TV, light-up chandelier, fireplaces on every floor, a chiming doorbell, kitchen timers, crackling fireplaces in the kitchen, a humming shower, flushing toilet, and mattresses.
Of course, you have to buy the furniture yourself and then furnish each room as you go. Mattel does make custom Dollhouse Furniture and Dollhouse sets for the Barbie Pink 3-Story Dream Townhouse.
You can pick and choose from their pink-shaded furniture sets or you can just as easily use other versions from dollhouse furniture making websites. The dollhouse is built to scale which means that any conventional furniture made by a Dollhouse Accessories company will fit into the interiors.
At present, Amazon seems to be offering a great deal on the Barbie Pink 3-Story Dream Townhouse but it is available from Target, Wallmart and Toys R Us too so do check around before making a final purchase.
